This TEDx Dubai 2009 talk by Joi Ito is a great introduction to the technical and legal stack underpinning and driving innovation in open networks with a focus on how sharing changes things.
Joi Ito (@joi) delivered a presentation at TEDx Dubai 2009 (@tedxdubai) that focussed on innovation in open networks and particularly the open “stack” (building on the OSI model) illustrating the value and importance that Open Standards and Creative Commons licences have in driving and fuelling innovation in the digital sector.
The talk also starts off with an excellent, pragmatic, introduction to early stage venture investing with the theme of “buy low, sell high”.
A copy of the video (around 30 mins) is provided below with a copy of the related Prezi presentation below that.
Joi is also speaking at Thinking Digital (@thinkingdigital) in May later this year.

I used this presentation as inspiration for an “open innovation” talk at Durham University earlier this week and the slides from this presentation, with links to further information, are also available below.
