lovle (Learning Objects for Virtual Learning Environments) is a web based application enabling individuals, organisations, or consortia to create, evaluate, store, support, sell and trade modular interoperable eLearning content.
The lovle suite of applications separates eLearning content from delivery. Delivery is carried out by a VLE, Learning Management System or Learning Platform. By separating and managing VLE compatible learning resource content an organisation is able to share, reuse, trade and maximise the use of their learning resources.
lovle integrates with all mainstream proprietary and open source VLEs.

There are four web based applications that comprise the lovle suite:
- repository is a standards compliant online content storage mechanism that has a patent pending. Repository acts as an online content storage utility with version control and export facilities to ensure interoperability with mainstream VLEs
- evaluation is an application that enables the critical evaluation of online content & resources and mapping to curriculum by content suppliers and users. All evaluation content can be used as the basis for subsequent online content information retrieval
|
- collaboration is an application that manages online content identification and production for courses. The collaboration application facilitates consortia working where educational institutions can define their online content requirements and commission private sector suppliers to develop, deliver and handover completed bespoke online content
- marketplace is an application for the promotion, trading and selling of modular online content. The Marketplace application also acts as a commissioning / tender tool for promoting requirements as defined using the collaboration application and contracting with suppliers
